A Summer Sampler

Nodding Thistle flowers on the edge of the woods in Jester Park, Iowa, June 27, 2018.

A nodding thistle napped on the edge of the woods. A rabbit pretended he had the field all to himself.

In the garden, the purple coneflowers conferred in the shade of the evergreen trees. A chipmunk darted out from the undergrowth. He froze on the rock unsure of his next move.

The compass plant turned her face to the rising sun. On the bank of the pond, the hoary vervain stood sentry watching the summer days pass by.

That rabbit looks a bit worried. But maybe that is a rabbit’s default expression.

      Hi Shady 🙂

Thanks for visiting and your kindness! The life of a rabbit is full of worries. If it is not one thing, it is another. 🙂

Beautiful shots, Sarah!! Isn’t it wonderful to be outside capturing all this beauty?

      Hi Diane 🙂
Thanks for visiting and your kindness! I am happy you liked seeing the flowers. 🙂 I can’t get enough of the flowers. 🙂 I was at park this morning admiring some other ones. I could have stayed their all day. 🙂

      Hi 🙂
Thanks for visiting and your kindness! I am happy you enjoyed seeing a bit of summer. 🙂 The summer seems to have gone by quickly. Fall is just getting started here with a few leaves turning and falling. Thunderstorms today are breaking a summer-like heat wave and bringing in cooler weather. The pelicans and Monarch butterflies are traveling through which is a sure sign that fall has begun. 🙂
