Falling Leaves

A fallen leaf in the woods at the Iowa Arboretum, September 26, 2014, "Falling Leaves."It is the leaves that ask for attention now with their brilliant shades of yellow, orange, and red. They fall gently on the quiet days. They dance and spin on the windy ones. In the last week of September, I walked in the woods at the Arboretum in the early mornings.

And she’s back from the dead…or wherever. 🙂
Those are very nice pictures which capture the beauty and glory and anticipation of Fall. I especially like the “tree on the edge of the meadow”. Do you know what sort of tree that might be?

      Hi Shady 🙂
Thank you very much for your kind thoughts and your patience. 🙂 I don’t know the name of the tree in that picture. A field guide to trees is a book I plan on adding to my little library this fall or winter. I will come back and update the information in the caption then. I liked the contrast between the starkness of the tree silhouette and the softness of the grass, the trees and the sky.
